Tom Coughlin Not Happy With Dallas’ Clock Operator (UPDATE)
Dallas’ 29-24 loss Sunday to the Giants was a classic Cowboys defeat. So close, at times so great, and yet never great enough. Part of the reason Dallas was able to come so close, though, according to Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, was because it got a little help. From SNY.com:
“It was reported down to me right away that that is what happened, that the hand was out of bounds. It was just a matter of the official having the necessary time to make that call. But I must say it’s been a long time since I’ve seen three plays in 10 seconds. That was an incredible thing that happened there. We thought it was over.”
UPDATE:The Newark Star Ledger is reporting that the NFL is saying that there was no issue with the clock.
An NFL spokesman said this morning “there were no issues with the clock.” So that means case closed. “I must say that, it’s been a long time since I saw three plays in 10 seconds,” Coughlin said after the game. “That was an incredible thing that happened there. We thought it was over with the high ball over the middle, and we look up, and the thing is stuck on one.”
