Randall Cobb ’100%’ Confident He’ll Play Saturday
It looks like the Packers will be back to full strength this Saturday against the Vikings as Randall Cobb, who missed last Sunday’s game, says he’s planning to play. Now that Aaron Rodgers appears to have all his weapons back, the Packers are once again a team that no one should pick against. From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
The decision not to play wide receiver Randall Cobb did not cost the Green Bay Packers the way some might have thought. Cobb, the team’s leading receiver as well as punt and kickoff returner, was held out of the game because of an ankle he sprained last week against Tennessee. On Friday, Cobb had practiced on a limited basis, but it wasn’t enough to prove to the medical staff that it was worth the risk playing him against the Minnesota Vikings. “It was close,” Cobb said after the Packers’ 37-34 loss at the Metrodome. “It was 50-50.” Cobb said the decision was made between him and the medical staff and that he thought it was the right one. “I wanted to be out there, especially a game like this,” Cobb said. “You want to play, but we were just being smart about it. It was a mutual decision.” Asked whether he was confident he would play against the Vikings in the playoff opener next week, Cobb said, “100%.”
