Jacoby Jones On Joe Flacco: ‘This Man’s Going To Be A Legend’

by

Before 2012, Jacoby Jones was a little-known third receiver in Houston. Now, he’s a Super Bowl legend and one of the most feared return men in the NFL. So you’ll forgive him if he’s living it up. Jones has been appearing on just about every TV station there is. And when he stopped by NFL Network this morning, he heaped praise on his quarterback—and Super Bowl XLVII MVP—Joe Flacco, calling him a “legend” in the making. That, and more highlights from Jones’ appearance:

Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl XLVII hero Jacoby Jones appeared on “NFL AM” Thursday morning to accept his “Dancing with the Starters” Champion award. Quality television ensued, underscored by Jones’ obvious respect for quarterback Joe Flacco. Here are the highlights:

» Asked if Flacco deserves to be the highest-paid quarterback in the league, Jones replied, “Why not? Look what he’s done. That man’s been to the playoffs since he was a rookie. He’s got a lot more he’s going to accomplish too. This man’s going to be a legend.”

» If Jones believes he deserves his own payday as aSuper Bowl MVP candidate, he’s not showing his hand. “Nah, man, I just play my role. Joe deserved that MVP. That man threw 11 touchdowns, no picks,” said Jones. “I just play football. When they come up and offer more money, I’ll just say, ‘Thank you.’ “

» Queried about his much-derided tattoo featuring a cartoonish Raven, Jones quipped, “It’s sweet, ain’t it?” He wasn’t alone. Jones’ mom got a heart tattoo with the number 12 on it. “She got her first tattoo at the age of 57.”

» Jones on Twitter: “It’s not for me, man. … I’m not about to be thumb-wrastlin’ with y’all out there.”
