It appears that Giants center Chris Snee has joined the long list of people who would rather gargle laundry detergent then listen to Redskins owner Daniel Snyder speak. Here’s what Snee, Giants tight end Martellus Bennett and punter Steve Weatherford had to say about these Snyder comments, which were made in the wake of Washington’s 17-16 win over the Giants Monday night. From Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post:
“I could give two [bleeps] what Daniel Snyder has to say,” Giants center Chris Snee told The Post. “I’ve heard lots of things about people hating him too. Including people that work for him.” Tight end Martellus Bennett, who is a first-year Giant but no stranger to the Redskins after spending the previous four years with Dallas, mocked Snyder by saying: “I don’t even know who that is.” Told it was the Redskins’ owner, Bennett shrugged. “Everybody has some type of feeling,” he said. Giants punter Steve Weatherford tried to take the high road, saying the feeling — at least on his part — wasn’t mutual. “I don’t have any disdain for that team,” Weatherford told The Post. “I think they played a great game. [Quarterback Robert Griffin III] is really classy, and I think for the most part, I think they’re a classy team.” Snyder’s insult might not have been solely related to the game. He remains angry at Giants co-owner John Mara for leading the charge to have the Redskins forfeit nearly $30 million in salary-cap room last summer stemming from supposed violations of the NFL’s uncapped year in 2010.
